This feels like a gentle ego detox. I mean that in a good way.

You start with the craving to be special, then quietly dismantle it by zooming out to the body, the species, the 8 billion “cells” in the universe’s organism.

The Brownian motion metaphor is brilliant because it both humbles and dignifies us: yes, we’re buffeted by forces, but we also have awareness.

I especially love the seed image at the end. It reframes “purpose” from something to hunt with the mind into something already encoded that we either allow to sprout or let rot.

The piece doesn’t answer “who am I?” so much as invite the reader to trust that they are already someone.

Thanks for the great read

Thank you for such a thoughtful reading. I really love the phrase “a gentle ego detox” — it’s brilliant, and I might borrow it in the future.

I was honestly surprised by how deeply you read the piece. When I write, I don’t really have a plan. I don’t know in advance how the story will end. The text unfolds as I write it. Even for me, the associations with Brownian motion and the seed appeared unexpectedly, and I liked how they emerged.

Deep down, I do believe that each of us carries a unique pattern within — something that can unfold under the right circumstances. It’s a fascinating process, though not always an easy one. I watch it with a kind of quiet admiration for the intelligence of Nature.

I’m really glad the piece resonated with you. And thank you again for such a deep and thoughtful comment. 🤝
